borderless ist ein Ausstellungsprojekt des Masterstudiengangs Photography der Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle. borderless meint nicht grenzenlose Beliebigkeit, sondern verfolgt den Anspruch Bilder und Serien auszuwählen, die das Thema inhaltlich oder konzeptionell aufschlüsseln, sinngemäß stimmen sowie wesentliche Zusammenhänge einbeziehen.
In der Ausstellung werden individuelle Standpunkte nicht aufgegeben, um sich als eine Einheit zu präsentieren. Die Ausstellenden nutzen ihre Vielfältigkeit und Internationalität. So entstand ein Konzept, in dem zum Einen den Teilnehmern keine Grenzen gesetzt werden, und das sich zum Anderen durch zeitgemäße Fotografieansätze und Bildsprachen auszeichnet.

Kelli Sims' It's Michael is a collection of drawings and watercolors created by the artist over a span of one week in March 2015. The book offers a glimpse into the artist's unique process of digesting reality. A certain urgency and rawness is evident in depicting a disorienting range of Sims' subject matters. In her works on paper, a pen or a brush cast a net extracting brief moments of clarity from the sea of daily observations, free association, dreams, and the internet. Patrick Hartl (*1976) is a German contemporary artist with a passion for handwriting and lettering. As of age 15, he was painting Graffiti and learning the ropes of art within the urban sphere. His graphic studies revealed a love for calligraphy and stylised writing with deep roots in the gothic script of his native Germany. Patrick Hartl connects old craftsmanship with modern street style. On closer inspection, Hartl’s seemingly monochrome works turn out to be the result of a multitude of layers of paint and a colourful diversity. His favourite canvas is a ten-years-old wall, which has been bombed, cleaned, bombed again, crashed, washed, damaged, but which always tells a new and unique story. As a master of handcrafted designs and analogue works, and one of the foremost urban calligraphers, Patrick Hartl has been involved in making art for more than two decades. An avid collaborator, Hartl belongs to the “CALLIGRAFFITI AMBASSADORS” and, in addition to exhibiting in traditional galleries from New York to Buenos Aires to Tokyo, and he has painted murals across Europe and beyond.

Perneczky ist ein Protagonist der ungarischen Konzeptkunst, seine frühen konzeptuellen Arbeiten und auch seine Publikationen hatten eine Katalysatorfunktion für die ungarischen Neo-Avantgarde-Tendenzen. Seit 1970 lebt und arbeitet Géza Perneczky in Köln und war ein wichtiger Vermittler zwischen der ungarischen/osteuropäischen und der internationalen Kunstszene. In der internationalen Szene wurde er als einer der Begründer der Post-Fluxus-Mail-Art-Bewegung bekannt, die auch den Charakter seiner konzeptionellen Arbeiten bestimmt.
